Maquillage Professional Day 2: Eyebrow Shape & Facial Shape Correction

Day 2 looked easy but it was very critical in achieving a well polished make up look.

Eyebrows can definitely make or break a look, just a dab of darker or lighter brow corrector can totally alter the way you look so it's always important to have groomed and well defined eyebrows. Irregardless of your face shape, you'll have perfect brows if you stick to this formula as illustrated on the right:

For girls who have sparse eyebrow hair like me apply your choice of product to your groomed eyebrows to define and accentuate the shape, remember stick to the formula on the right! Avoid drawing beyond your normal eyebrow shape unless if you have super duper sparse hair or if your aiming for that intense eyebrow look.

Contouring is one of the steps that most girls skip probably due to lack of knowledge on how it's done and it's supposed effects. Proper contouring can create an illusion of an oval face (the ideal face shape) no matter what natural face shape you have. Contouring actually recedes the area of your face that you may want to hide (chubby cheeks, double chins, pointy chins, very prominent jaw). It can also create dimension on an otherwise flat surface (a wow noseline!). A snapshot of my notes show the correct way of contouring. The lines on the sides of the different facial shapes are the areas that you need to contour. From the ear area contour up to almost the apples of your cheeks, the direction will depend on your face shape.

A face with well groomed brows and properly contoured will look picture perfect as it is. Try it on your face to see the difference.
