Choosing your make up school and why I chose Maquillage Professionnel

Hola! It's raining like crazy tonight yet I'm so hyped up from today's make up class. Yes ladies, I'm actually doing makeup school now and so far it's been so much fun. I named a number of make up schools in my previous post and it was in that list that I chose the school I'm currently going to.

My main considerations for choosing my school were:
  • Location: had to be convenient, safe and accessible
  • My Skill Level: I'm practically a beginner so going to a beginners class with fellow beginners was a must! I didn't want to prematurely advance myself when I wasn't even comfortable holding a professional makeup brush
  • Investment: One thing I learned from my multiple tried and failed new hobby attempts was to test the waters first before even buying envy worthy tools. Sure it's very tempting to hoard and stock up on makeup stuff,  but keep in mind that trying things out first will save you cash and that bad bad feeling of buyers remorse.
  • Faculty: I wasn't very particular about where the trainer graduated, I took into consideration their experience and actual work.
  • Feedback: I scoured the internet for feedback on the school, how the graduates were doing and how much of what they know are attributed to the school
Having such list made decision making a lot easier for me. I chose Maquillage Professionnel at Modern Academy in Burgos Circle because it fits most if not all of the considerations I mentioned above. I live practically 5 minutes away that I can walk to school if I want to! They offer a beginners class where the fee includes ALL makeups & tools. Faculty credentials were unquestionable (solid training under Makeup Forever & years of experience!) and graduates feedback (based on my friends' stories and what I read online) were very positive! I enrolled in their Module 1: Facial Beauty, Fashion & Photography Makeup for Professional Artists, they offer more advanced modules that I may opt to take if I chose to further my makeup know how. It's definitely a school that can definitely take me from zero to pro! Here's the photos I took on my first day:

Can't contain my excitement! With my "muse"
Still undecided which school to go to? It's always best that you visit the school so you'll get a feel of how things go. I also suggest that you narrow down your choices to a few, make a list (and check it twice!! or thrice!) of your considerations and use it as a guide to see which school best fits your needs, be careful and take time to think it over for who knows you might be making the biggest career decision ever! Will give a blow by blow account of my classes in my succeeding posts! Good night for now chicas!
